Monday Motivation – Persistence the Road to Success

I read a post the other day which featured this quote by Calvin Coolidge:

“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

I think along with persistence and determination we need to add in a lot of self belief and confidence in our own abilities.

This quote also links quite well with the idea of persisting and not giving up:

“Life’s real failure is when you do not realize how close you were to success when you gave up.” – Anonymous

So if you are on the verge of giving up keep going that bit long and see what is round the next corner.

When has persistence and determination paid off for you?

Hope you all have a Happy Monday and fabulous week. Wishing you all success in everything you do this week.

Thanks to Jackie Elton- Super Networking Consultant- I have enjoyed reading Monday Motivation. As a mum its easy to fall back on the daily chores when there is more important things to do. Then, amazingly, its time to pick the kids up and evantually the days gone and your business goes back to being a hobby!

    Jackie,
Thanks for writing about this important issue. I talk about persistence a lot as a business mentor. The things we are doing today may have an effect on our business in two months time. We have to be aware of this. When I first came on-line I wanted to get my Magical Meditations 4 Kids relaxations out into the world and I thought the way to do it was to approach publishers with my ideas for a book. After loads and loads of very polite rejection letters I finally was approached by a cd publisher who not only loved them but wanted me to record them – a dream come true! The way I’d become known to the publisher was because I was on social media making connections and building relationships and they heard about me by word of mouth from one of their own authors. My message, like yours, is to keep going – you never know what’s just around the corner.
